Somerstock supports the home of the festival with donation to Recreation Ground Trust
Following the success of Somerstock, the festival has made another donation to Somerton Recreation Ground Trust, which looks after the recreation ground where the annual festival takes place.
The cheque was presented by Fred Bassett, Chair of Somerton Music & Arts Festival (SMAF), to David Osmond, chair of Somerton Recreation Ground Trust.
The recreation ground has been the home of Somerstock, providing the space for the festival’s stages, food and drink, family activities and thousands of festival-goers each year.
SMAF has supported the Recreation Ground Trust with donations in previous years, recognising the important role the recreation ground plays in the life of Somerton and the wider community.
For the Somerstock team, the relationship is particularly special. The recreation ground isn’t simply the venue for the festival — it is a much-used community space throughout the year, and the Trust works to maintain and improve it for the benefit of local residents.
The latest donation forms part of Somerstock’s commitment to giving something back to the community that supports the festival.
